We'll See-Ya Soon, Cincinnati!

Meet Kayma Wolfinbarger from KaymaCreates...

Hi, I’m Kayma Wolfinbarger. I am an 18-year-old small business owner for my jewelry shop, KaymaCreates. I will be an incoming freshman at the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP program, where I will be partaking in the Graphic Design program! I am very outgoing, adventurous, and creative. I am very excited to be participating in my first Avant-Garde Art & Craft show, and have worked hard on building my brand as a young entrepreneur. I have been selling jewelry for a little under a year! What inspires me to create is the idea that there is always a bigger purpose through forms of art– that people can interpret and appreciate it with their own means.

I began making a few pieces of jewelry for fun, just for myself and a couple friends. Within a couple weeks, my social media was flooding with requests from locals around the Fort Thomas/Greater Cincinnati area! I knew I had to lean into this and excitedly started making more jewelry that resonated with my style and aesthetic. I now have used this as a means to branch out into selling other products I enjoy making, like embroidered tote bags, vinyl KaymaCreates shirts, and more! I currently sell my products through my online Etsy shop, as well as my social media platforms for any local orders. I also have participated in selling jewelry at local small businesses, such as Fort Thomas Coffee, and involving myself in local vendor opportunities!

I’ve always loved art growing up, but felt that I never knew where I stood. I was never very good at drawing or painting, but loved the design process and writing, so I continued to stay involved by actively creating and crafting for personal enjoyment. I am very intuitive, I often like to visualize first by looking through Pinterest, writing, or watching inspiring videos to get an idea of what I want to create, then I start!
In five years, I see myself selling products that align with my brand– I hope to use my design skills that I continue to learn throughout college to expand my business further online and as a whole. During the next couple of years, I will be working hard to create my products with genuine intent and quality, that also means something.

‘Jewelry that inspires’ has been my tagline this entire year. As I’ve expanded into selling different products along with jewelry, my main goal is to continue to inspire through my work. Inspire, as in promoting the idea of leaning into your creativity, whether ‘good at art’ or not. Creativity is something that is innate to all of us, but we often stray away from it; it takes time, effort, and discipline to sit down and allow yourself to freely take time from everyday life and to-dos, but it is oh so rewarding in the end.

Meet Debbie Brown from Spice Spice Baby...

My husband is a chef and has always been passionate about food. He wanted to create spice blends that are not only fresh, but affordable and easy for the at-home cook to use. I have been doing this for two years and this will be my second Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show. What inspires me to create are customers with great ideas and cooking trends.

In five years, I will hopefully own a small storefront selling our spices and other gourmet or specialty items. The message behind my work is "Cooking can be easy and doing it with fresh, affordable ingredients is possible!"

Meet Zoe Burns from Chameleon Crafts...

Hello and welcome to the wonderful world of Chameleon Crafts! My name is Zoe Burns. I make glass beaded earrings and necklaces! I've been making jewelry for about three years now. When I started back in 2017, I was a cosmetology student who didn't necessarily have time to make it a career. In December of 2020, I recently started in a salon suite after doing hair for about three and a half years and started my own business doing hair part-time. Since then, I've been honing in my craft and perfecting my skills in order to turn this into a part-time job alongside doing hair. It feels really rewarding and I'm so happy I made the jump. This will be my first Avant-Garde Art & Craft Show and I'm very excited!

My love for whimsical and interesting jewelry is what inspires me to do what I do. There are so many endless combinations of colors and shapes I can do with the beads that I use and its really satisfying to see everything come together. I've been invested in art since I was a freshman in high school. I did everything from ceramics to drawing, and even a little bit of jewelry. Even though I didn't do a whole lot of jewelry making at the time, I think my background in art was what opened the door for me to experiment with jewelry making down the road.

I discovered my talent when I was sitting at my desk playing around with some jewelry supplies that I had from some other projects that I did, and I had the idea of putting together a pair of earrings. I used some metal eyepins and some glass beads and created my very first pair of earrings. It felt really rewarding. I was so happy with how they turned out.

I am a very visual person, so if I have an idea in my head that I wanna do, I start putting beads together on wire to see what colors and shapes coordinate the best. Eventually I get a beautiful pair of earrings or a beautiful necklace.

I would really love to make this a full-time career in the next five years. I want to eventually spread out my expertise and do many different types of jewelry such as polymer clay and resin. I also want to partner with wildlife organizations and give a portion of my profits back to rainforest relief efforts.

The message behind my work is "Be creative, be colorful and most importantly, be yourself." I want all of my customers to feel special when wearing my jewelry.

Meet Katrina from Kats Creatable Designs...

Hi! I started my own business making anything I can out of yarn. I crochet all of my goodies during my free time from being a full-time college student going to nursing school. I started this small business in December 2020, but I have been crocheting since I was five years old. This will be the first craft show that I have ever done.

I really enjoy making things and learning about new things to make from Youtube or friends and family. I hope that my business continues to grow through social media and my Etsy shop over the next few years. I hope one day I can open a shop that teaches people how to crochet and everything there is to know about yarn.
